René Marceau is president of Marceau Pipe Organ Builders in Seattle, a firm he established in 1981. During that time, his shop has completed 42 major projects in locations from San Diego to Anchorage and Great Falls. He holds a BA in music history from Loyola University of Los Angeles and a Masters in Church Music from the University of Southern California. A life long singer, René has participated in both church and concert choirs in Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle. He has also studied organ with David Britton, Ladd Thomas, Lee Garrett, and Peter Hallock. René joined the Saint Mark’s Cathedral Choir in 2005 and The Compline Choir in 2009.
Despite having a degree in Computer Science, Joel has sung in church choirs in Seattle for most of his life. He developed an interest in Renaissance music while a teenager, and continued to nurture this interest in college and into adulthood to the present day. Through singing in the Compline Choir, he has learned more about how to sing and been exposed to more repertoire than in other choral situations in which he has participated.
Fred joined the Compline Choir because it has been a part of his life since he began listening to the service as a child and out of a desire to be a part of a community that shares some of the greatest music ever written with others. He graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 2004 and currently serves as Organist and Choirmaster at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Mercer Island. When not working as a professional musician, Fred enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
After earning degrees in music from Pacific Lutheran University and Cornish College of the Arts, Tyler has undergone a major vocation shift into agriculture. With the blessing and support from his wife, Rebekah, he owns and operates a small suburban farm and homestead in Brier, WA, growing organic produce for local communities. He still composes and participates in music when he is able amidst the copious responsibilities of farming, marriage, and fatherhood.
